Aeroflot’s adds two Boeing 777-300ERs with new cabin layout
Aeroflot has taken onboard two more retrofitted Boeing 777-300ERs configured to the airline’s new cabin layout. The aircraft can accommodate 427 passengers in a two-class configuration, including a premium economy section. The airline’s 777-300ERs with new cabins are currently deployed on domestic routes but have been earmarked for popular international routes in the future.
Both jets were delivered to Aeroflot on September 30th, 2021, flying from Everett to Los Angeles. The refit was conducted by MRO firm HAECO, which also worked on Aeroflot’s first retrofitted 777-300ER.
On February 4th, Russian carrier Aeroflot received two more Boeing 777-300ERs to complement its fleet. These two additions to the fleet are amongst the newer aircraft from its existing 777-300ER fleet at 1.8 years and 0.7 years, respectively. Aeroflot is in the process of retrofitting its 777-300ER fleet and rolled out the first new cabin in August last year.
The new configuration takes total passenger capacity to 427, which adds 25 passengers compared to its older cabin. Aeroflot has cut the size of its ‘Comfort’ premium economy cabin in half from 48 to 24. These seats come with a 38-inch pitch and will be in the same 2-4-2 configuration. In economy class, seats will have a 31.5-inch pitch. The new cabin adds an extra 51 seats in economy.
- 28 Super Diamond NG seats in business class
- 24 seats in comfort class (economy plus)
- 375 seats in economy class
The cabin also offers a significant business class upgrade, adopting Collins Aerospace’s ‘Super Diamond’ business class in a 1-2-1 layout. Each business class seat has full lie-flat capability and 18.5-inch personal monitors amongst other features, including sliding privacy doors and extra armrests.
