Aeroitalia, a recent entrant in the aviation industry since its launch in 2022, is set to initiate a new service connecting Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY) and London Southend Airport (SEN). This route is scheduled to commence on March 25, with six flights per week.

The service will cater to travelers seeking to explore Milan, Italy’s renowned fashion capital. SEN highlights the convenience of this new route, emphasizing the leisure-friendly morning departure times that will appeal to passengers at both destinations.

This route will be serviced by a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, signifying Aeroitalia’s commitment to providing a comfortable and reliable experience for its passengers.

In addition to this route, SEN has announced a partnership with Aeroitalia, hinting at the possibility of more routes being introduced in the future.

SEN CEO John Upton expressed enthusiasm about this partnership, noting its significance for London Southend Airport. He emphasized the convenience this service provides to passengers in East London and Southeast England, offering them a gateway to Milan’s rich offerings in football, fashion, and culture.

With the addition of BGY, London Southend Airport expands its destination portfolio to 11, enhancing its network and connectivity.

Aeroitalia CEO Gaetano Intrieri sees this new route as a cultural bridge, connecting Italy’s exquisite cities with London’s dynamic energy.

Giacomo Cattaneo, the commercial director at BGY, also comments on the strategic importance of this route. He notes that it not only serves the Essex region but also provides easy access to the British capital through efficient rail connections.

Aeroitalia, with its aircraft based at BGY and Rome Fiumicino Airport and sub-bases in Sicily and Sardinia, is poised to strengthen its position in the European aviation market with this new Milan Bergamo to London Southend service.
