Aeromexico inaugurated its first route between Mexico City and Tepic, the capital of Nayarit, Mexico, allowing travelers to quickly connect with strategic points of the Riviera Nayarit and its Magical Towns.

In addition, this route is vital for tourism targeting the new resort Islas Marías (formerly a jail) since it is located half an hour away from the dock of San Blas, from where travelers take the ferry to this tourist attraction known as the Mexican Alcatraz.

Aeromexico will offer seven flights a week seating 100 people. It also allows connecting night flights from the United States, Canada, Europe, and South America, with which a significant increase in international tourism is expected in the Riviera Nayarit and its inland towns.

This year, the airline will operate 106 routes from Mexico City, 59 domestic and 47 international. Additionally, a growth plan for the Tepic airport has been announced, including a new control tower, new terminal and platform, and runway expansion, which will allow larger aircraft to land.
