Agency air ticket sales hit new pandemic-era high
Airlines Reporting Corp. reported that March air ticket sales by affiliated travel agencies were up 180% compared to March 2021, the second month in a row that sales have hit a new pandemic-era high. The $7.8 billion in air ticket sales during March “were fueled by strong growth in corporate travel, which improved from 60% of pre-pandemic levels in the first week of March to 70% of pre-pandemic levels in the last week,” said Steve Solomon, vice president of global customers and data products at ARC.
