Air China Cargo has expanded its fleet with the delivery of its first A330-200P2F passenger-to-freighter aircraft on December 15. The 16.4-year-old aircraft underwent conversion at the AMECO facility in Chengdu Shuangliu after serving in passenger operations with Air China until January 2023.

This delivery marks the commencement of the carrier’s fleet enhancement initiative, with a total of eight A330-200(P2F) aircraft set to join its ranks. As outlined in the airline’s prospectus, three more A330-200P2F conversions are expected to be completed in 2024, followed by the remaining four in 2025.

In addition to the new A330-200 freighters, Air China Cargo operates three Boeing 747-400FSCDs and a fleet of nine 777-Fs. The airline has further bolstered its capabilities through an agreement with Boeing for the delivery of four additional 777-Fs by 2025, highlighting its commitment to strategic fleet expansion. Simultaneously, Air China Cargo is in the process of divesting its four 757-200PCF aircraft, which will be sold via the Beijing Equity Exchange.
