Airbus Collaborates with LanzaJet to Enhance Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Production

Airbus has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with sustainable fuels technology company LanzaJet to collaborate on the production and development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), as well as the investigation of business opportunities with airlines and stakeholders.

The collaboration will also see the partners accelerate the certification and adoption of 100% drop-in SAF while advancing the production of SAF facilities that use LanzaJet’s Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) technology.

LanzaJet’s ATJ technology uses low-carbon ethanol to create SAF, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by more than 70% compared to traditional fossil fuels, and is an approved drop-in fuel compatible with existing aircraft and infrastructure.
