Airbus launches aircraft ‘e-delivery
Airbus has launched aircraft hand-over and ‘e-Delivery’ virtual process to protect its clients and future business interests.
“The first airline that has received three brand new A320neo family of aircraft was Pegasus Airlines, a Turkish LCC.”
Airbus, which has announced that it plans to e-Deliver more aircraft in the next few days and weeks, revealed how the end-to-end process works:
- Technical Acceptance Completion (TAC) tasks delegated to Airbus (or to a local third party appointed by the airline).
- Electronic Transfer-of-Title (ToT)
- Ferry-flight and subsequent reception of the aircraft at the customer’s base.
The TAC phase is completed by Airbus on behalf of the operator accepting the aircraft. This stage includes a ground-check, the acceptance test flight, acceptance manuals and procedures.
The ToT stage comprises the through e-SalesContracts platform each party, regardless of their location, can get together into a one-real-time virtual environment “where they can optimise and simplify all the contractual transactions” which are finalised with a remote ToT digital signature.
Lastly, is the ferry-flight, which can be performed by the customer’s flight crew, who can “pick-up the sanitised aircraft and fly it straight back from the delivery centre to the airline’s home base.”
Airbus announced that this process “could become the blueprint for Airbus and its customers going forward.”
