Airbus Unveils Half-Year 2023 Financial Results
Airbus has reported its financial results for the Half-Year (H1) 2023, ending 30 June 2023.
In the report, Airbus revealed total gross commercial aircraft orders of 1,080, compared with 442 aircraft in H1 2022, as well as net orders of 1,044 aircraft after cancellations compared with 259 aircraft in H1 2022. The OEM also reported an order backlog of a record 7,967 commercial aircraft at the end of June 2023.
Of these deliveries, a total of 316 were commercial aircraft, comprising 25 A220s, 256 A320 Family, 14 A330s and 21 A350s.
Additionally, Airbus’ consolidated revenues increased by 11% year-on-year to €27.7 billion in H1 2023, compared with €24.8 billion in H1 2022. Its EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) Adjusted relating to commercial aircraft activities remained stable at €2,256 million during H1 2023, compared with the same in H1 2022.
Airbus intends to meet its 2023 company targets by the end of the year, which include 720 commercial aircraft deliveries and an EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) Adjusted of € 6.0 billion.
Additionally, Airbus is continuing its ramp-up of the A220 programme, aiming towards a monthly production rate of 14 aircraft in the middle of the decade. As for the A320 Family programme, the OEM is also continuing to progress towards a production rate of 75 aircraft per month in 2026.
Speaking about its H1 financial results, Guillaume Faury, Chief Executive Officer, Airbus, said: “During the first half of 2023 we progressed well across our businesses in an operational environment that remains complex. Our commercial aircraft are in strong demand, as demonstrated by more than 800 orders announced at the Paris Air Show. This demand is driven both by growth and fleet replacement as airlines invest in more fuel-efficient fleets. Based on this H1 performance, we maintain our 2023 guidance.”
