Airlines, airports step up security ahead of inauguration

Airlines and airports are working with law enforcement to step up security around flights traveling through Washington, D.C., in the run-up to Jan. 20’s presidential inauguration. Two lawmakers urged the Federal Aviation Administration to go beyond warnings of enforcement action against disrupters and convene leaders from airlines, unions and airport management to collaborate on barring people involved in previous violent incidents from boarding aircraft.
