Airlines mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Airlines marked Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by reflecting on Dr. King’s legacy and sharing the impact of his teachings on equality and justice across their employees’ lives. “I don’t want the dream to ever die. I want the generations behind me to know how important it is to exercise their rights, their votes. To continue to strive for equality—to be treated as one would want their own to be treated. For as long as I live, I’ll show up and keep spreading his message,” said Hilda Shepherd, who began her aviation career as an Alaska Airlines customer service agent and later trained as an aircraft mechanic.
