Airlines strengthen sustainability commitment with SAF certificates

Airlines are furthering emission reduction by piloting a program, backed by the World Economic Forum, that offers corporate travel clients certificates that subsidize the purchase of sustainable aviation fuel, helping both those companies and the carriers meet sustainability goals. In 2021, 11 companies bought enough SAF certificates from United Airlines to help finance about 3.4 million gallons of sustainable fuel. JetBlue also announced that four companies signed up to finance the purchase of 325,000 gallons.
