American Airlines and Delta Air Lines are recruiting headquarters employees to volunteer at their Dallas and Atlanta hubs as airlines and airports work to accommodate surging air travel demand. The Transportation Security Administration has begun recruiting new employees, but is also asking office employees to volunteer to help manage traffic flow and do administrative tasks at airport screening checkpoints, freeing up screeners for their primary job. Meanwhile, Southwest Airlines is leaning more on digital tools like chatbots to boost recruiting efforts and Delta is bringing reservation agents back to work to handle demand.
