Alaska Air Cargo rushes fall hops to craft brewers

Fresh hop beers are best when they include the late-summer harvest, which is why this autumn Alaska Air Cargo flew more than 1,200 pounds of fresh hops from Washington state within less than 24 hours of harvest to craft brewers in Hawaii and Alaska craft breweries. “This is a potential game-changer for the craft beer industry,” says Adam Drouhard, Alaska Air Cargo managing director. “This puts a Northwest agricultural product in places that don’t normally get it. With the size and scope we have in Seattle, we are really positioned to own this.”
