Alaska Airlines provided a patriotic-themed aircraft to fly Rep. Don Young’s body back to Washington, D.C. When he died on March 18 while traveling home to Alaska, he was the oldest member in the House (88 years old). A former chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, he was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1973. A memorial for Rep. Young that includes family members and members of Congress is being planned, and a second D.C. event will also take place for friends and associates.
