Alaska Airlines Launches Five New Nonstop Routes
Alaska Airlines is set to expand its network with the launch of five new nonstop routes, enhancing connectivity across California and the Pacific Northwest. In a press release dated October 1, 2024, the airline announced exciting new connections, including flights from Las Vegas (LAS) to both San Diego (SAN) and Santa Rosa/Sonoma County (STS).
Additionally, Alaska Airlines will establish new routes from Los Angeles (LAX) to Pasco (PSC), Washington, D.C. (IAD), and Reno (RNO). The airline will also resume direct flights between Portland (PDX) and Atlanta (ATL), providing travelers with more options for both business and leisure travel.
“Travel demand continues to be strong, and we are excited to provide our guests with more options for their next business trip or autumn getaway,” said Kirsten Amrine, Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning. She emphasized that these new nonstop routes will bolster Alaska Airlines’ presence in California and connect Pacific Northwest communities to a broader network.
From Los Angeles, Alaska Airlines will operate two new flights, making it the airline with the most daily flights to West Coast destinations from LAX. The Los Angeles-Reno flight will operate twice daily, while the Los Angeles-Pasco route will feature one daily flight, both serviced by Embraer 175 aircraft.
Furthermore, Las Vegas will become the 39th nonstop destination from San Diego, with both the Las Vegas-San Diego and Las Vegas-Santa Rosa/Sonoma County routes operating once daily, also served by the Embraer 175. Alaska Airlines will reinstate the daily cross-country service from Portland to Atlanta using a Boeing 737-900 aircraft, enhancing its connectivity options.
