Alaska Airlines uses virtual reality for pilot training

Alaska Airlines is using customized virtual reality equipment in its pilot training program, making it easier for students to learn the topography of a cockpit before ever entering a simulator. “It’s helping give them exposure to things we typically wouldn’t see early in training which makes them more successful in the latter stages of training,” said Jeff Severns, managing director of flight operations training.
