American Airlines, the largest U.S. airline in Latin America and the Caribbean, is adding more than 50 daily flights from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to seven popular destinations in Mexico this winter. The expanded service is part of the airline’s largest-ever winter schedule to international destinations south of the U.S., which includes two new routes and increased frequencies to 21 other routes.

Starting in December, American will offer more flights from DFW to Acapulco (ACA), Huatulco (HUX), Monterrey (MTY), Puerto Vallarta (PVR), Los Cabos (SJD), Zacatecas (ZCL) and Zihuatanejo (ZIH). These destinations offer travelers a variety of attractions, from beaches and resorts to culture and history.

“This coming winter we’re looking forward to adding more service to the destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean that our customers want to visit, including popular spots like Cancun, Montego Bay and Punta Cana, as well as our newest destination, Tortola,” said José Freig, vice president of Operations and Commercial for Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America at American. “We are proud to strengthen our lead as the largest U.S. airline in the region, with more flights and seats to more destinations than any other single carrier or partnership.”

American’s 2023 winter schedule for the Caribbean and Latin America will also feature new routes from Miami to Paramaribo, Suriname; Charlotte to Paris and Frankfurt; Seattle to London; Los Angeles to Sydney; and Nashville and Cincinnati to Cancun. The airline plans to operate over 2,250 weekly flights to 90 destinations this winter, a 10% increase in seat capacity compared to winter 2022.

American Airlines is committed to providing a safe and comfortable travel experience for its customers amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline has implemented enhanced cleaning procedures, mandatory face coverings, touchless check-in and boarding processes, and pre-flight COVID-19 testing options. Customers can also enjoy free entertainment, Wi-Fi and snacks on board most flights.
