American Airlines is charting a strategic course for route expansion by prioritizing “underserved” cities across the United States. CEO Robert Isom emphasized the airline’s commitment to enhancing air connectivity to cities that may have been overlooked in the past.

Isom pointed out, “It’s Roanoke and Lubbock, small cities like Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, and other small cities throughout the United States.” American Airlines is dedicated to strengthening its presence in these markets to provide more travel options and improved connectivity for passengers.

To bolster its overseas reach, American Airlines is leveraging its partnerships within the Oneworld alliance. By collaborating with fellow Oneworld carriers, the airline can efficiently serve international markets, allowing travelers from smaller cities in the US to access a broader network of global destinations.
