American Airlines focuses on South America

American Airlines continues to invest in South America, and has expanded its network during the pandemic as well as forging new partnerships with two South American airlines in 2021. “In pretty much every country, we are the largest long-haul operator and often by order of magnitude” and American has increased its “footprint in the region” by at least 20% during the pandemic, said Vasu Raja, chief revenue officer.
