American Cruise Lines is set to expand its fleet with the introduction of two new coastal ships, the American Maverick and American Ranger, slated to debut in 2026. These vessels are part of the Patriot Class series and will accommodate 125 passengers each, following the launch of the American Patriot, American Pioneer, and American Encore.

Constructed as part of the cruise line’s ambitious Project Blue series, these ships are among 12 small ships designated for the U.S. market, all built by Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, Maryland. This initiative began with the roll-out of four 100-passenger Coastal Cats in 2023 and 2024, underscoring the cruise line’s commitment to expanding its domestic offerings.

The American Maverick and American Ranger are designed to enhance passenger experience with five decks featuring 100 percent private balcony accommodations. The fourth floor will exclusively house suite accommodations ranging from 420 to 620 square feet. A total of 56 staterooms will be available, offering both single and double occupancy options.

Noteworthy amenities on the fifth deck include the Sky Lounge, which provides panoramic views, lounge seating, a walking track, and the Back Porch Café, an outdoor eatery. Additionally, guests will enjoy an indoor fitness center, a main lounge, and a restaurant on the first deck, as well as a Bow Terrace and Horizon Lounge on the third deck.

Upon their launch, the American Maverick and American Ranger will primarily sail along the Eastern Seaboard, enhancing American Cruise Lines’ capability to offer varied itineraries around the country. With these additions, the cruise line will boast a fleet of 24 small ships navigating rivers and coastal routes across the United States.
