American pilot academy aims to bolster diversity

American Airlines partnered with the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals to host a week-long aviation academy for 20 Texas high school students, part of the airline’s effort to bolster pilot recruitment and diversify its workforce. “You’re not just harvesting crops, you’re planting trees that take years to produce fruit,” said Cory Glenn, an American pilot and director of pilot recruitment.
