Visitors to the Airline Passenger Experience Association Expo (APEX Expo) in Long Beach, California next week (25-27 October) can see a demonstration of a new dual-panel Ka-Band antenna. The dual-panel inflight connectivity antenna system (DPSAA) is being revealed by Anuvu, a satellite connectivity provider, and comprises a key component of the company’s Airconnect Ka multi-orbit connectivity platform designed specifically for both GEO and LEO networks.

The antenna technology is based on on QEST’s latest-generation responsive motion-control system, and Anuvu says the dual-panel antenna maximises data flow, even when GEO and LEO satellites are low on the horizon. Anuvu promises full forward compatibility with current and future non-geostationary networks.

“We are thrilled to be able to showcase our latest hybrid-network, multi-orbit innovation with our longtime partner, QEST,” said Mike Pigott, Anuvu’s EVP for connectivity. “Our open-architecture design doesn’t lock customers into specific system components, enabling customers to maximise the value of their investment over time while receiving the best service in the market.”
