Atlas Ocean Voyages Teams Up with Global Penguin Society for Antarctic Expeditions

Atlas Ocean Voyages, a pioneer in yacht expedition cruising, is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Global Penguin Society, an acclaimed organization dedicated to the conservation of penguin species worldwide. This collaboration will be featured on select Antarctica expeditions starting with the World Navigator’s journey on November 22, 2024, offering guests unique educational experiences about penguin conservation.

James Rodriguez, president and CEO of Atlas Ocean Voyages, highlighted the value of this partnership, stating, “During each Antarctica expedition, the continent’s resident penguin population is the star of the show, and our guests always delight in observing penguin behavior and activities in their natural habitat. The partnership aims to enrich the expedition experience by providing guests with insights into the Global Penguin Society’s research efforts through onboard lectures and guided shore landings. These interactions will focus on the biological and ecological data collection methods used to monitor penguin populations, track their migration patterns, and assess threats to their conservation.

The Global Penguin society is a part of the Wildlife Conservation Network and works to protect penguin species and their habitats across the Southern Hemisphere through sound science, habitat protection, and educational programs.

In addition to the new collaboration with the Global Penguin Society, Atlas Ocean Voyages is continuing its partnership with ORCA, a marine conservation organization focused on the protection of whales, dolphins, and porpoises and their habitats. On the 2024 Arctic expeditions aboard the World Voyager, ORCA conservationists will engage guests in citizen science projects to collect crucial data and raise awareness about marine conservation.
