Austin, Texas, hotel upswing called business as usual

The pandemic chilled hotel occupancy in Austin, Texas, but development has been at boom level since 2015 and is accelerating now, according to the capital’s tourism leader. More than 5,000 hotel rooms have been added since 2019 and every project in the construction pipeline before the pandemic has either opened or advanced, says Visit Austin President Tom Noonan.
