Avion to supply eight A320 flight simulators to Gen24 Flybiz
Avion has received an order for eight A320 Full Flight Simulators from Gen24 Flybiz, a Mumbai-based upcoming Flight Training Company. Avion will initially deliver two Indian civil aviation authority (DGCA) certified Avion A320 simulators for the launch of Gen24 Flybiz’s new training centre in July, with plans to deliver the remaining six simulators within the following 18 months.
The agreements follows the Gen24 Group of India’s acquisition of Avion Group and Avion Simulators. Together the companies will further enhance Avion’s R&D activities by developing a Full Flight Simulator for the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, involving the development of new functions including lesson plans, a debrief tool and a 2.1 software update for the Airbus A320 simulator.
“Avion’s unique simulator design combined with the team’s expertise offers a great opportunity for Gen24 to rapidly expand our footprint in professional flight training and simulator manufacturing,” said Manoj Pandey, CEO, Gen24 Group, “the synergies shared between Gen24 and Avion make it an ideal acquisition and impeccable match.”
Avion will expand its team in the coming months in order to support the enhanced R&D programme, and its Avion Flight Training Centre at London Luton Airport will also continue operations, with plans for further expansion to be investigated.
Speaking about the new partnership, Erik Varwijk, outgoing CEO, Avion, said: “We are thrilled Avion has become part of a strong industrial group with a clear ambition to be a knowledge leader in the flight training industry. This will enable Avion to develop its portfolio of products and grow market share accordingly.”
