Battered NYC hotels hit airwaves seeking tax relief

The trade association for New York City’s struggling hotels has launched a TV and radio ad campaign beseeching Mayor Bill de Blasio to lift what it terms a devastating 18% penalty for delinquent tax payments. The mayor says “all options” are being weighed to help the industry but adds that revenue from taxes and penalties is sorely needed.
