BBN Airlines Thailand Initiates Operating License Process, Targets 2024 Launch

BBN Airlines Thailand (Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) has embarked on the journey to secure its Operating License in Thailand, marking a significant step towards its anticipated launch in 2024. The startup, supported by Avia Solutions Group, sees obtaining the Operating License as the initial phase in the certification process, preceding the acquisition of an Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC).

Apirak Homlaor, former executive assistant to the vice-president of Phuket Airlines and a board member of Airports of Thailand Ground Aviation Services Company, leads BBN Airlines Thailand as its Chief Executive. Avia Solutions Group, the driving force behind the venture, did not disclose details about the fleet plan for the new unit.

BBN Airlines Thailand is poised to become Avia Solutions Group’s second airline in Southeast Asia, following BBN Airlines Indonesia. Gediminas Ziemelis, the founder and chairman of Avia Solutions Group, shared the group’s ambitious vision of operating five airlines in five different Asia-Pacific countries by the end of 2024.

Avia Solutions Group, a diverse aviation conglomerate, currently holds ownership of various entities, including Avion Express, SmartLynx Airlines, KlasJet, Air Explore, Ascend Airways, Magma Aviation, BBN Airlines Nordic, BBN Airlines Türkiye, and Arcus Air. The expansion into Thailand aligns with the group’s strategic plan to establish a significant presence in key aviation markets across the Asia-Pacific region.

As BBN Airlines Thailand progresses through the certification process, aviation enthusiasts and industry stakeholders eagerly await further details regarding its fleet composition and the specific services it plans to offer upon launch in 2024.
