Biden administration unveils aviation sustainability plan

The Biden administration has unveiled its Aviation Climate Action Plan, which calls for investments in sustainable fuel and technologies and strengthening international initiatives with the goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in the US aviation sector by 2050. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg called the goal “ambitious yet achievable” at the COP26 climate conference. Airlines for America in March announced the commitment of its members to work across the aviation industry and with government partners to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
