According to a report from Bloomberg News on May 28, Boeing is currently in talks to finalize a deal that would see the sale of at least 150 737 Max jetliners to Riyadh Air, a Saudi Arabian startup airline.

The new carrier, fully owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), has expressed its interest in acquiring a total of 300 to 400 single-aisle jets. The report also suggests that Airbus might be competing for a portion of the order.

The announcement of this potential deal is expected to take place during the upcoming Paris Air Show in mid-June. While Boeing declined to provide comments, both Riyadh Air and PIF have yet to respond to Reuters’ requests for confirmation.

It is worth noting that Boeing has previously secured an order from the state-owned airline Saudia and Riyadh Air for a combined total of 78 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. This order ranks as the fifth-largest commercial order by value in the history of the aircraft manufacturer.
