Boeing Soars in November with a Surge in Aircraft Deliveries
Boeing has made a significant recovery in its aircraft deliveries for November 2023, marking a robust rebound from earlier setbacks. The aerospace giant delivered a total of 56 airplanes, a substantial increase that propels it closer to achieving its revised annual targets.
The bulk of these deliveries comprised the 737 models, specifically the 737 Max, which accounted for 45 of the 46 narrowbody 737s delivered in November. This surge in deliveries is particularly notable, as it represents a 150% increase in 737 Max deliveries compared to previous months. This boost is a crucial development for Boeing, considering the 737 family’s popularity and its significance to the company’s portfolio.
From January to November 2023, Boeing has successfully delivered 351 737s, which includes 343 of the MAX variants. This progress is just 25 units shy of the company’s revised annual target range of 375 to 400 units. Initially, Boeing aimed to deliver 400-450 single-aisle aircraft by the end of the year. However, production defects earlier in the year necessitated a revision of these targets to a slightly lower range.
Boeing delivered 56 commercial jets in November 2023, including:
- 737s (45 MAXs / 1 NG) 46
- 767s 2
- 777s 2
- 787s 6
The company needs to hand over 24 737s and 14 787s in December to meet its target for 2023. November was also a successful month in terms of orders. The manufacturer picked up 114 gross orders throughout the month, including a massive deal with Emirates for 777X and 787 widebodies. However, ten 737 orders were canceled by unidentified customers, leaving Boeing with 104 net orders for November 2023.
Boeing’s November performance is a strong indication of the company’s resilience and its capacity to overcome challenges. As the aerospace industry continues to navigate a complex global landscape, Boeing’s ability to ramp up production and meet delivery targets is a positive sign for its stakeholders and the broader aviation sector.
