Brookfield funds in deal for Watermark Lodging Trust

Funds managed by Brookfield Asset Management have formed a deal to acquire Watermark Lodging Trust in an all-cash transaction valued at $3.8 billion including debt. “This portfolio is well-positioned given its concentration in high barrier to entry coastal destinations, gateway cities and the Sun Belt,” says Lowell Baron of Brookfield’s Real Estate Group.
