Business travel makes slow comeback, shifts character
Airline executives say business travel is coming back slowly but has not reached 2019 levels and the mix of business travelers is different. Vasu Raja, chief commercial officer at American Airlines, said business travel is providing 40% to 45% of revenues, which is typical. However, far more business travelers than in the past are not from large corporations whose travel is “managed” through large travel agencies.
