Restaurants, hotels and other popular tourist attractions are worried about the lack of workers this summer season due to coronavirus restrictions. “It’s the ‘Hunger Games’ for these employers, fighting for getting these guest workers into the country while also trying everything they can to recruit domestically,” Brian Crawford, American Hotel and Lodging Association executive vice president, said. As a result, businesses are putting extra efforts into hiring locally while offering incentives, such as Santa’s Village in Jefferson, N.H., which promises free utilities and housing for college students.
