Officials in Placer County, Calif., will seek $16.7 million from the state’s Project Homekey program to purchase a hotel to house homeless people. The Board of Supervisors voted to acquire and refit the 85-room Hampton Inn & Suites for apartment-style transitional living if the funding is obtained.
