Canada’s latest budget startup, Lynx Air (DAT, Calgary), has opened ticket sales for flights on five domestic routes, launching in April 2022.
The first destinations from Calgary include Toronto Pearson, Vancouver Int’l, Winnipeg Int’l, Calgary, and Kelowna.
According to the company’s website, the schedule will be as follows:
the first daily flight between Calgary and Vancouver departs on April 7, 2022, increasing to twice daily by May 20;
four times weekly flights from Calgary to Toronto start on April 11, ramping up to a daily service from April 18;
twice-weekly flights from Calgary to Kelowna begin on April 15;
twice-weekly services from Vancouver to Kelowna also start on April 15;
services between Calgary and Winnipeg debut on April 19, running twice weekly for the first two weeks, increasing to 4x weekly by May 5;
daily flights from Toronto to Vancouver take off on April 28.
Rebranded from Enerjet (Y9, Calgary) – Lynx Air, in November last year, announced its launch with firm orders and lease agreements in place for forty-six B737s over the next seven years. The first three B737-8s will arrive later this quarter with the first identified as C-GJSL (msn 44312). The aircraft was seen on December 24, having been painted in the Lynx Air livery.
”By May, Lynx will be operating 76 flights per week and that is just the beginning. We will continue to add destinations and routes as we ramp up for the busy summer season, offering even more choice and flexibility to Canadians,” commented Chief Executive Officer Merren McArthur.
