The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has revised its travel warnings, moving 61 countries from “Level 4” to “Level 3” based on declining rates of COVID-19 infection, shifting others to more favorable categories and changing its rating standards “to better differentiate countries with severe outbreak situations from countries with sustained, but controlled, COVID-19 spread.” The CDC advises unvaccinated travelers to avoid Level 3 countries, while all Americans are advised to avoid travel to Level 4 countries, which have infection rates of 500 cases per 100,000 people under the new standards.
