China drives Marriott’s Asia Pacific growth surge

Luxury and leisure properties in China and South Korea are spearheading Marriott International’s plans to open 100 hotels in the Asia Pacific this year, including its 1,000th in the region. While the expansion will take in a wide range of brands and specialties, Greater China, with its burgeoning affluence, accounts for more than half the company’s expected Asia Pacific luxury debuts.
