Choice Hotels’ Bainum said to bump up Tribune offer

Choice Hotels International Chairman Stewart Bainum Jr. is offering to add another $200 million of his own money in his bid for Tribune Publishing, according to sources. The billionaire is battling hedge fund Alden Global Capital, which owns about one-third of the newspaper company and is proposing to buy it outright for $635 million.
