Choosing a specialty

You have continued to share your stories with us about why you chose your specialty. Here are more.

Arizona-based Sharon Oberritter specializes in leisure travel to the South Pacific simply because she fell in love with the region. “I love painting a picture of experiences for my potential clients by asking: Have you always dreamed of snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, or to see a troop of Kangaroos in person? Perhaps you see yourself lounging on a gorgeous Polynesian beach, hiking in New Zealand or sleeping in a bure in Fiji. I can then go on and delve further into these experiences.”

Dina Lamborghini focuses on corporate travel for its simplicity, avoiding leisure travel due to worry over clients being disappointed by weather, bad food or other conditions that are hard to control. “Corporate — get them from point A to point B: hotel, car, maps, meeting space. I THRIVE on delays and issues — that is my go to thing to fix and be the hero.”

You have been overwhelming in your responses, so we will follow up with more of them in the coming weeks. If you would like to have your say, email Katie Parks with your responses.
