Comac’s C919 test fleet complete

The sixth and final Comac C919 prototype has completed its maiden flight at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport.

According to Flightglobal.com the flight lasted two hours five minutes and took place on 27 December. During the flight, 30 tests were conducted stated Comac.

The aircraft, No 106 joins five other prototypes in the test programme. Production has already begun on the first customer aircraft. The arrival of No 106 comes just a few weeks after the 5 December departure of the fifth prototype, aircraft No 105 to Nanchang.

The C919 is expected to enter service in late 2021 or 2022, a delay of more than a year, having originally been planned for 2020. The launch customer for the aircraft will be Shanghai-based China Eastern Airlines.
