County allots $1.7M for hotel buy for homeless

Officials in Douglas County, Neb., have granted an Omaha nonprofit $1.5 million in pandemic relief funds toward the planned purchase of a hotel to shelter homeless people. Open Door Mission has been leasing hotel space for the need and says it will need $7 million for an acquisition plus programming.
