De Havilland Canada is making headlines with the introduction of its latest aircraft, the cutting-edge DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G, at the renowned Paris International Air Show. The aircraft manufacturer has already secured combined purchase agreements and letters of intent for a staggering 45 aircraft.

Throughout the Paris International Air Show, which kicked off on June 19, 2023, De Havilland Canada intends to announce the purchase agreements with its newest clientele. The Classic 300-G, the fifth generation in the Twin Otter series, is set to join the existing Series 400.

Brian Chafe, the CEO of De Havilland Canada, expressed excitement about the aircraft, stating, “For over 50 years, the DHC-6 Twin Otter has stood alone as the most reliable and versatile aircraft in its class. After extensive consultation with our customers, we are poised and proud to take this iconic aircraft to new heights with the new DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G.”

The Classic 300-G boasts a rugged airframe propelled by Pratt & Whitney technology, offering increased payload range and reduced operating costs for customers. It also features an all-new cabin interior and flight deck, which incorporates the state-of-the-art Garmin G1000 NXi fully integrated avionics suite, propelling De Havilland Canada as a key player in the utility transport aircraft market.

The DHC-6 Twin Otter has an impressive range of capabilities, including passenger transportation, VIP transport, cargo movement, medivac operations, and special missions. It can even be equipped with amphibious floats, enabling water take-off and landing.

Carl Wolf, Garmin’s vice president of Aviation Sales and Marketing, shared his excitement about the partnership, saying, “De Havilland Canada continues to shape aviation with innovative utility aircraft, and we are proud to offer our G1000 NXi integrated flight deck with the latest version of the iconic DHC-6 Twin Otter. The G1000 NXi will bring wireless cockpit connectivity, enhanced situational awareness, visual approach capability, and our fully integrated GFC™ 700 autopilot with envelope protection to the Classic 300-G aircraft.”

With a history spanning nearly a century, De Havilland Canada has delivered over 5,000 aircraft, solidifying its position as a leader in the aviation industry. The launch of the DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G marks another milestone in the company’s long-standing legacy of excellence.
