Deem to Add Thrust Carbon Data to Etta Platform
Deem is partnering with Thrust Carbon to provide carbon emissions information on flights, hotels and car rentals in Deem’s Etta booking and travel management platform, the company announced.
Etta’s EcoCheck feature will show carbon emissions data for each supplier at the point of booking as well as total emissions for a trip during and after booking. For flights, emissions data is based on route, carrier, aircraft type and class of travel and will include a comparison to average emissions for the route. Hotel data will include properties’ scores on Thrust Carbon’s Hotel Sustainability index, a 100-point scale based on a hotel’s market segment, eco-labels, net-zero plans and such scores as the Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative and Cornell Hotel Sustainability Benchmarking data. Car rental emissions data is based on location, car type and length of rental.
EcoCheck will be available on Etta’s web and Android platform by the end of May, according to Deem. It also will be available on iOS at some point this year, though a specific timeframe is not yet available, according to a Deem spokesperson.
