Scott Jordan, Delta Air Lines’ managing director of East sales, celebrated the joint venture partnership with Korean Air in an interview with the Korea Economic Daily. He said that the partnership, which began in 2018, has brought more benefits and convenience to customers traveling between the U.S. and Asia.

“We pride ourselves on surrounding ourselves with great partners, the kind that embody that spirit of customer service and innovation,” Jordan said. He added that Korean Air is a “world-class” airline that shares Delta’s values and vision.

The joint venture is the strongest form of partnership among airlines, allowing them to coordinate schedules, fares, routes, and services. The partnership covers more than 290 destinations in the Americas and over 80 destinations in Asia across 44 countries.

Jordan said that the joint venture has enabled Delta and Korean Air to offer more flight options, seamless connections, consistent service standards, and reciprocal loyalty benefits to their customers. He also said that the partnership has helped both airlines recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which severely disrupted air travel demand.

Jordan highlighted some of the achievements of the joint venture, such as launching new routes between Seoul-Incheon and Minneapolis and Boston, introducing digital check-in via both airlines’ apps or websites, aligning baggage allowances and priority boarding for corporate customers, and reducing connecting time at Incheon Airport.

Jordan also expressed his optimism for the future of the joint venture, as travel demand recovers and both airlines continue to invest in new products and technologies. He said that Delta and Korean Air are committed to providing the best travel experience for their customers and communities.
