Delta exec on her path from refugee to boosting others

As a girl in Somalia, Amal Yusuf saw aircraft as the carriers of deadly weapons fire and the source of hope for a seat that could take her away from it, but now her position as program manager for HR programs at Delta Air Lines allows her to help others, especially women, follow her up the ladder of success. “Delta has been able to turn my airline story of separation into one of connection,” she said, adding: “I now have the opportunity every day to help people connect to their dreams, their families and friends and, ultimately, to the life they have always wanted.”
