Delta scores “grand slam” after flying champion Braves home

Following their World Series victory, the Atlanta Braves were flown home by Delta Air Lines and greeted at the airport by CEO Ed Bastian. In the past year, Delta charters have transported numerous championship sports teams, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. “It is the grand slam of carrying champions,” said Bill Wernecke, managing director of charter sales and operations at Delta.
