Designation buoys rescue effort of famed Miss. Hotel

A campaign by two sisters to revive a Clarksdale, Miss., hotel that once thrived as a haven for blues music has received a shot in the arm in the form of a National Trust for Historic Preservation designation as an endangered historic place. The goal is a spring 2022 reopening for the Riverside Hotel, which was forced to close in 2020 due to the pandemic.
