Doubts surround emergence of hotel add-on charges

A smattering of US hotels is experimenting with add-on fees for amenities such as pool use and early check-in, a move that’s established with airlines but is being met with skepticism from consumers and industry players. Travel writer Kyle Potter, who questions the scheme, says the companies are “actually charging you the same amount, they’re just giving you less than they once did.”
