Downtown hotel plan revival weighed in Raleigh, N.C.

City officials are taking a new look at a 500-room convention center hotel plan from 2018 for downtown Raleigh, N.C., that was mothballed because of the pandemic. The City Council heard a report this week that the Raleigh Convention Center lost 68 events between 2018 and 2020, with 45% of rejections coming from groups that blamed a hotel room shortage.
