Dutch East Design revamps building into new hotel

Marcel Breuer’s Armstrong Rubber Company headquarters in New Haven, Conn., has been reinterpreted as The Hotel Marcel, with a softer, warmer interior to balance out the harder exterior of the building. “We’re trying to reacquaint the public with Brutalism, but in a very approachable way,” said Dieter Cartwright of interior designers Dutch East Design.
